Long Island Immigrant Student Advocates

Welcome to Long Island Immigrant Student Advocates (LIISA), a non-profit organization committed to promoting equality and the right to a higher education for all students, regardless of their immigration status. Our organization was founded in 2010 with the purpose of educating, empowering, and engaging immigrant youth, educators, and the community to create a stronger, more diverse leadership movement on Long Island.

Our mission is to promote education as the most important value for personal development and to increase the level of immigrant students graduating from high school and achieving their professional studies. We are also dedicated to supporting efforts to achieve equality in the U.S. educational system for all immigrant youth.

One of our primary goals is to raise funds to provide scholarships for immigrant students regardless of their immigration status. We believe that access to education is a fundamental right and that financial barriers should not prevent students from pursuing their dreams.

In addition, we conduct youth leadership development and empowerment programs to help students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their academic and professional lives. We believe that by empowering young people, we can create a more just and equitable society for all.

At LIISA, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community that celebrates diversity and supports the success of all students. We believe that education is a powerful tool for change and that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of immigrant students and their families. Thank you for your support of our mission and vision.
